More than just a business, Josefina's Empanadas is a heartfelt journey rooted in family, tradition, and a lifelong love for sharing delicious food. I was named in loving memory of my grandmother, Josefa, who was the cornerstone of our family.

She was a remarkable woman whose warmth and her gift for bringing people together through food have always inspired me. Carrying her name, I strive to share that same sense of connection and deliciousness with every dish I create.

Where It All Started

Growing up in a vibrant Dominican household in New York, food was always at the center of our gatherings. Empanadas, in particular, were a cherished tradition for special occasions – a labor of love I eagerly participated in. It wasn't until a simple office potluck in the summer of 2024 that the overwhelming positive response to my empanadas sparked a new dream. The encouragement to share these "little pockets of love" beyond family and friends ignited a passion that led to the birth of Josefina's Empanadas.

Inspired by my entrepreneurial mother, who demonstrated the power of building genuine relationships through her work, and guided by my deep-seated values of quality and care, I am committed to every step of the process. From sourcing the freshest ingredients and preparing authentic Dominican fillings with traditional seasonings to handcrafting each empanada and creating our signature homemade sauces, every detail is infused with dedication and a desire to bring you a truly special culinary experience.
